Mrs. Stephanie Sutton
Greetings Falcon Family,
Hello and welcome to the 2019-2020 school year! I am proud and honored to serve as the Assistant Principal at Phillips Elementary. I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Intermediate Education with Concentrations in Reading, Language Arts, and Social Studies. I graduated with a Masters Degree in Education and Human Development (Administration and Supervision) from The George Washington University, and completed doctoral coursework at The College of William and Mary. This is my tenth year Phillips Elementary School and my 25th year as an assistant principal with Hampton City Schools. My professional experience also includes tenure as a classroom teacher of grades 4-9 in Hampton, Newport News, North Carolina, and Maryland. My experiences as both a classroom teacher and administrator have provided me with valuable knowledge and resources to be both an effective instructional and strategic leader as well as a strong advocate for our children's social and academic success.
On a more personal note, I have been married for 37 years, and my three daughters graduated from Hampton City Schools. In my spare time, I enjoy singing, playing the piano, reading, painting, and writing poetry. I invite you to take an active role in your child's education. It truly takes a village to raise our children. I look forward to working together with you this year! My door is always open to all of you!
